Offshore 180BBL Storage Tank

A 180 barrel (bbl) offshore storage tank is a container specifically designed and certified for the safe temporary storage and transportation of liquids (such as crude oil, drilling fluids, water, or chemicals) on offshore drilling rigs, platforms, and vessels.

DNV-ST-E271, This is a globally recognized standard by DNV (Det Norske Veritas) that confirms the unit is constructive safe for lifting and stacking in the harsh offshore environment.

• The certification covers the heavy-duty steel frame surrounding to protect the tank during transportation and lifting.
• Capacity: 180 bbl ≈ 7,560 gallons ≈ 28.6 cubic meters.
• Construction: The tank have two compartments with 90bbl for each, which can allow the owner to have two kinds of fluids in one tank.
• Footprint: A 180 bbl tank is generally larger than a standard 20ft (6-meter) ISO container tank due to strong lifting frame for offshore environment, roughly about 23ft (7-meter)

• Diesel or crude oil.
• Non-hazardous or hazardous mud and brines.
• Acids or other corrosive materials, requiring a stainless steel or specialized internal lining.
• Potable water or ballast water.

• The tank may be insulated and include steam, or electric heating coils to maintain the temperature of high-viscosity fluids like heavy crude oil.
• They feature pressure/vacuum relief vents, manways for inspection, and various discharge and fill ports with certified valves.
